Which landscaping services do you offer?
Our landscapers are competent in fencing, turfing, outhouse builds, decking installations and garden maintenance. Previous projects in the Walton-on-Thames and Surrey areas have included the creation of a tennis court, paving installations and timber steps. Landscaping can be carried out in conjunction with tree surgery work or as a separate entity.
Our small team of landscapers work to the planning of own RHS qualified designer.
Are you able to remove a tree stump from my Walton-on-Thames garden?
Roots and Shoots, and our qualified tree surgeons, are able to remove existing tree remnants using stump grinding machinery run with biodegradable oil. Our portable equipment will reduce tree remnants to approximately 300mm below the ground to effectively kill off the roots, leaving your land primed for future development.
Once stump grinding has been completed, the remaining woodchip can be used around your Walton-on-Thames garden as a decorative feature or as a biodegradable mulch.
Are you able to undertake hedge cutting?
Yes. We can provide seasonal or one-off hedge cutting at your Walton-on-Thames home or business suited to the requirements of each individual species. While we are working at your premises, our landscapers and tree surgeons pay attention to key factors such as bird nesting seasons so as not to disrupt their habitats or the welfare of the ecosystem.
Are you able to carry out tree felling?
Roots and Shoots provide a complete tree surgery service in Walton-on-Thames so tree felling is commonplace in our work. Firstly, we make sure that the tree isn’t protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO). If the tree has become a hazard or is diseased, we can remove by directional or sectional felling depending on the layout of the surrounding area.
Our tree surgeons have over 20 years of experience so you’re always in very safe hands.
What happens to the tree once it’s been felled?
Our tree surgeons recycle wood into logs, seasoning them at our yard for 12 months before selling them to customers in Walton-on-Thames and Surrey for firewood. We offer free delivery on local orders. Woodchip is also derived from tree surgery work, a biodegradable material which works well in wood burning stoves or as mulch around the garden.
The landscapers at Roots and Shoots also use mulch derived from tree felling.
Do you provide emergency tree surgery service?
If damaged or fallen trees have caused damage or are presenting a threat to domestic or commercial properties in Walton-on-Thames, our tree surgeons are able to help with a responsive service. We provide 24-hour emergency tree surgery services and quickly clear the area of dangerous trees or limbs to protect adjacent buildings and the general public.
Are your tree surgeons and landscapers fully insured and qualified?
All tree surgery and landscaping services, from tree felling and stump grinding to crown reductions and hedge cutting, are fully covered by our own public liability insurance which is valued at £5m. We also hold employer’s liability insurance to the value of £10m. All tree surgeons and landscapers are fully qualified, having passed industry-standard examinations in arboriculture and horticulture at Merrist Wood college, 15 miles from Walton-on-Thames.
